If your child has ever dreamed of dribbling down the field like a pro, now's their chance. HEGEMONY Sports — the community youth sports program serving Plumas Lake — is offering MLS GO Soccer for boys and girls ages 5 to 15, right here in the neighborhood.
HEGEMONY Sports is operated by the HEGEMONY H.O.P.E. Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission goes beyond the scoreboard. The organization partners with Major League Soccer to bring the MLS GO program to the community, giving kids access to the same framework used by professional soccer leagues across the country. MLS GO focuses on endurance, teamwork, and what they call "global sportsmanship" — the idea that soccer connects kids to a worldwide community of players and fans.
Games are held at Rio Del Oro Elementary School on Zanes Drive in Plumas Lake, making it convenient for local families.
But HEGEMONY is about more than just soccer. The foundation also offers NFL Flag Football, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Basketball, NHL Street Hockey, and Cheer — all designed with the same philosophy: combine competitive athletics with mentorship to build confident, resilient young people. As their motto puts it, "Results Not Excuses."
League administrators Michael and Steven run the program and are reachable by phone or text at 530-329-3060 or by email at info@HegemonySports.com. Registration for MLS Soccer is available online at https://register.teamsnap.com/form/XeTmApagpPFizxhdWPZMD
Whether your child is lacing up cleats for the first time or looking to sharpen their game, HEGEMONY Sports offers an affordable, community-driven place to play with purpose. Register soon as registration will close July 12, 2026 with games being played in August - September.
